In addition to providing autism assessments, Dr. Ho also provides psychoeducational assessments. A psychoeducational assessment allows us to better understand how your child thinks and how your child learns at school. Sometimes, these assessments can lead to a diagnostic label-such as a specific learning disability- which can help with accessing appropriate supports at school.

Many families decide to seek out a psychoeducational assessment when they are concerned with the following:

• learning challenges at school
• difficulties with paying attention
• challenges with understanding instruction
• test anxiety

If you are concerned with any of the above, the first step should be to discuss your concerns with your child’s school and/or family doctor. Schools have the capacity to complete psychoeducational testing; however, the wait times are often long. Alternatively, parents may also decide to seek services privately.

Dr. Ho also provides cognitive functioning assessments and adaptive functioning assessments.
